This is so beautiful. I strongly agree with you Mobolaji. In truth I believe that Nigerians are smart people (I'd have said smarter, but I dont want to sound insulting to other nationals). I have so much confidence in this Initiative's ability to begin an Open-Source revolution in Nigeria. We have some other activities that are being lined up in a bid to further advance the Drupal cause in Nigeria. Keep and eye out for more details on our activities in the weeks to come.
And yes, Mobolaji, we could use your support in providing an eLearning Portal. I believe we should be hosting that portal on this site in the near future.

Let's go for it
Particularly i think we can begin by developing materials that help people to learn the basics of technology involved in building drupal sites. By this i mean:
while this may seem very technologically intensive it is the learning sacrifice that is needed to begin laying foundation for an opensource software industry. I will start my contribution by blogging about learning resources i find on the web so that we can start elearning from there. I think hosting elearning materials on this site is a brilliant idea. As much as possible i will try to contribute some drupal related learning to this site once a weak. I encourage other Nigerians out there to contribute to this site. Again i say this is a great initiative.

I think you have the making of a great idea. I live in the UK and am a lover of drupal. I am currently working on my first site and loving it. I have always thought that one area where Nigeria can become a world leader is in the area of web application development using opensource software. Your initiative could actually be a door to helping people build careers in software development. India has a very vibrant software development community not because they are more intelligent than us but because they have commited individuals like yourself who exposed their people to the software development technology. I am not a programmer myself but a trainer and i would like to work with you to write some of your training programmes. In the past i have done quite a bit of software training and something i think you can definitely do is develop an elearning portal where people can access drupal learning in addition to the classroom training you want to deliver.
