All over the world, thousands of people and businesses have benefited immensely from the Open Source Initiative as well as from the Drupal Open Source variant. An equally large number of folks who have benefited in this regard, have committed them selves to the Open Source Community, and have lent their commitment and support to the community. The volume of membership and support within these communities has given these initiatives their greatest strengths. For the most part, those who have remained active in the support communities have done so as a personal response to the benefits they have gained from the Software.

Hope you are all doing well? Suprisingly i'm not really seeing much participation on the site. I wonder what the reason for that is. I do implore you guys out there to please contribute and let's get this drupal thing going.
Anyway to continue from my last post, about two years ago when i first started learning about the web i came across a site i love a lot and still visit a couple of times a week. It's www.sitepoint.com. Sitepoint specialises in web design and development and they provide some very brilliant resouces and probably the best books for people that want to understand web related topics(php, asp, html, css, javascript, xml, project management). In fact they give away three chapters of all their books for free.

As promised i want to contribute some learning content to this site at least once a week. I'm not a techy or as we say it in the UK a geek. But i do love web technology because it gives every nation on the earth with internet access a level playing field to become a software development power house and really that is my desire for Nigeria.
To really enjoy using drupal then understanding HTML, CSS and PHP is a must. Not to worry there are a lot of great sites on the web that you can learn from. Perhaps the best is w3schools which has basic tutorials on all aspects of web technology. The url is:

We have quite a list of proposes activities and events lined up for this initiative.
